One often overlooked effect of the International Court of Justice advisory opinion on Israel's Security Fence: the advisory opinion makes it much less likely that either Israel or the United States will be joining the International Criminal Court in the foreseeable future. Both countries have been worried that the court would engage in politically motivated prosecutions. The unfair opinion of the International Court of Justice shows that these fears have a basis in reality.
