Are You a Zionist?

ט״ו באלול ה׳תשע״ז (September 6, 2017) By Talmid Leave a Comment

To describe oneself as a ‘Zionist’ is to be in agreement that the Messianic kingdom is coming.

Mount Zion is the City of the Great King.

Beautiful in elevation,
The joy of the whole earth,
Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north,
The city of the great King.
God is in her palaces;
He is known as her refuge.

  • Psalm 48:2-3

For the Lord has chosen Zion;
He has desired it for His dwelling place:
 “This is My resting place forever;
Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
I will abundantly bless her provision;
I will satisfy her poor with bread.
I will also clothe her priests with salvation,
And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
There I will make the horn of David grow;
I will prepare a lamp for My Anointed.
 His enemies I will clothe with shame,
But upon Himself His crown shall flourish.”

  • Psalm 132:13-18

When God speaks of His ‘Anointed’ He is referring to Messiah.

In Psalm 2 we read:

“Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.”

 “I will declare the decree:
The Lord has said to Me,
‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’

Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

  • Psalm 2:7-12

So here we see that Messiah is God’s son, who wears a crown of the Great King.

Zion represents the permanent dwelling place for God and His people on a new Earth, which is the Messianic Hope for the Messianic Kingdom.  So are you a Zionist?

Today is the day.  Be blessed and put your trust in the Son, the Great King of Zion, the Anointed One, the Messiah.  His name is Yeshua!

He IS coming soon!

50 Year Jubiliee for Jerusalem May 23-24, 2017

כ״ז באייר ה׳תשע״ז (May 23, 2017) By Talmid Leave a Comment

Celebrate Yom Yerushalayim or Jerusalem Day by reading Yeshayahu 61 ( Isaiah 61 ) … He came to set the captives free!  Soon the long awaited Messiah of Israel, Moshiach Ben David, will arrive and all Israel will be unified.

The Good News of Yeshua

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
They shall raise up the former desolations,
And they shall repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.
5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks,
And the sons of the foreigner
Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6 But you shall be named the priests of the Lord,
They shall call you the servants of our God.
You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles,
And in their glory you shall boast.
7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
Everlasting joy shall be theirs.

8 “For I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery for burnt offering;
I will direct their work in truth,
And will make with them an everlasting covenant.
9 Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles,
And their offspring among the people.
All who see them shall acknowledge them,
That they are the posterity whom the Lord has blessed.”

10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth brings forth its bud,
As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth,
So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Sam Nadler found answers about God and the Holocaust

י״ד באדר ה׳תשע״ז (March 12, 2017) By Talmid Leave a Comment

“Where was God during the holocaust?” is the question that kept Sam away from faith. Starting in a synagogue, trough Vietnam and all the way to a drug lair in San Francisco, he found the answer in the most unexpected place.

Zionist Artists and the Taboo of Yeshua

י״ג בטבת ה׳תשע״ז (January 11, 2017) By Talmid Leave a Comment

A new exhibition at Jerusalem’s Israel Museum explores the presence of Jesus in Jewish and Israeli art.

Source: Jewish art challenges the taboo of Jesus

“The sculpture, created by Russian Jewish artist Mark Antokolsky in 1876, is part of a collection of more than 150 artworks by 40 Jewish and Israeli artists who have used Christian imagery to challenge long-held taboos in both communities. It showcases the evolving attitudes of Jewish, Zionist and Israeli artists toward a figure whose place in Jewish history has been negotiated and reinterpreted over more than two millennia.”

Lamb of God or Goat of God?

כ״ז בניסן ה׳תשע״ו (May 5, 2016) By Talmid Leave a Comment

Biblical imagery portrays the Messiah as “the Lamb of God” (שֵׂה הָאֱלהִים) who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29), but did you know that the Messiah is also described as “the Goat of God” (עֵז הַאֱלהִים) who purifies us from iniquity and offers his blood for our everlasting atonement?  As the “Lamb of God” Yeshua provides redemption from sin, slavery to Satan and freedom from the wrath of God. By means of his shed blood and broken body, the plague of death passes over us and we are set free to serve God (Passover/Exodus). As the “Goat of God,” Yeshua provides both personal cleansing (“atonement” for sin) in the Holy of Holies that was sprinkled with the blood of the sacrifice on Yom Kippur, as our personal Mediator before the Father, as well as corporate cleansing for ethnic Israel at the end of the Great Tribulation period. At that time, during his second advent, Yeshua will assume the role as Israel’s true High Priest whose sacrifice is applied for Israel’s purification, and so “all Israel shall be saved” (Yom Kippur).

“And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house. And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD’S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering ..Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:”
(Leviticus 16:5-9, 15)

Did You Know…?

Aliyah is the word that describes the return of the Jewish People from the exile in the Diaspora back to the Land of Israel. The word Aliyah is derived from the verb "laalot" which means "to go up", or "to ascend" in a positive spiritual sense. A person who makes Aliyah is called an Oleh, meaning "one who goes up".
